Top New and Upcoming Phones of 2019

If you’ve had your current phone for a while and are already starting to see apps come out that aren’t compatible with your operating system, it’s definitely time to get a new phone. But to avoid buying a new smartphone only to find out that the manufacturer will release a new model just a few weeks later, it’s advisable to know what phones are coming out in 2019. We’ve put together a list of the new phones in 2019 you’ll want to check out:

• Apple iPhone XI: Apple’s new flagship phone is expected to be one of the top phones 2019 produces. It’s rumored to be bit larger than the previous model and will have a triple-lens camera, two-way wireless charging and a battery that’s up to 25 percent larger than the one in the last model. Other rumors say that it will include 3D sensors, which would make face-unlock faster and offer more powerful 3D and AR capabilities. However, since Apple is still very secretive about the phone, we’ll have to wait until the iPhone 11’s launch to know for sure.

• OnePlus 7: Expected to be as much an affordable flagship model as the OnePlus 6T, the OnePlus 7 is predicted to feature some pretty impressive technology — including super fast UFS 3.0 storage, 8GB/12GB of RAM, Snapdragon 855, a 6.5-inch AMOLED display, an in-display fingerprint sensor, triple rear cameras and a pop-up selfie camera. Whether it will be waterproof or offer wireless charging remains yet to be seen. The OnePlus 7 is expected to launch sometime after mid-May and will likely cost $550 or more.

• Samsung Galaxy Fold: Easily one of the most anticipated upcoming phones of 2019, the Samsung Galaxy Fold will thrill anyone who lives on their smartphone. With a 7nm 64-bit octo-core processor, 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, it’s fast and powerful. Samsung’s also launching its new OS One UI, which is optimized for use with one hand and offers a simpler version than earlier operating systems. It features a 4.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED exterior screen that can fold out into a 7.3-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED display and can display up to three apps at one time. At a sticker price of $1,980, it’s one of the most expensive phones on the market.

• Samsung Galaxy S10 5G: Slightly taller and wider than the S9, the S10 is Samsung’s well-designed next flagship model. Powered by Snapdragon 855, with 8GB of RAM plus 256GB of storage and with 5G enabled, its performance is among the best in class. On the back, its quad camera contains a 3D depth camera for AR, 16MP ultra-wide plus 12MP wide plus 12MP telephoto. On the front, it has a 10MP plus a 3D depth sensor — so if you’re into gaming and taking pictures, this is the phone for you. The S10 starts at $899.99, and the larger version of the phone — the Samsung Galaxy S10+ — retails for $999.99.

• LG V50 ThinQ 5G: If you’re not ready for a foldable phone but want to be able to enlarge your screen size, LG’s V50 ThinQ is the solution for you. You can purchase a second screen, which can be attached to the first to give you a larger working area. You can use one screen as a controller and the other as the viewing window when playing a game, or you can watch a video on one screen while checking your social media on the other. With a 4.000mAh battery pack, Snapdragon 855 and 5G enabled, it’s set to be a much more affordable competitor of the Huawei Mate X and Samsung Galaxy Fold.

• Google Pixel 4: Although Google’s next flagship model — Google Pixel 4 — isn’t forecast to hit the markets until October 2019, it’s expected to have some pretty impressive features. Powered by Snapdragon 855 SoC and with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of storage, it’ll be a step up from the previous models. And with an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner and dual rear cameras, Google Pixel 4 is likely to retail for at least $799, if not more.

• Motorola Moto Razr: Rumor has it that Motorola will be unveiling a new Moto Razr intended to be a competitor of the Samsung Galaxy Fold, Huawei Mate X and dual-folding Xiaomi. Only 200,000 of these phones will be manufactured — all exclusive to Verizon — and they’ll cost around $1,500 each. The Moto Razr will be a flip phone with a foldable, handset-length OLED display and a secondary screen on the exterior for alerts. The hinge will be hidden by the display when open. Other features include a fingerprint scanner and a single rear-mounted camera. The Moto Razr will be powered by Snapdragon 710 and will have 4GB/6GB of RAM plus 64GB/128GB of storage.
