The First 5G Smartphones Available in 2019

The terms 3G, 4G and 5G refer to a series of cellular network connections that help drive download speeds, streaming ability and the power to send messages. The award for the first 5G smartphone goes to Motorola, which released the Moto Z3 in 2018. However, this smartphone was a 4G device with the ability to operate using a 5G Motorola mod.

• Galaxy Note 10 5G: Also starting at $1,299, the Note 10 offers all the benefits of a regular smartphone while providing a pen that you can use to jot down notes along with high-quality video and photo-taking/editing capabilities.
• Galaxy A90 5G and Galaxy Fold: These two devices were released this month in Korea, while the people looking forward to them in the U.S. are still waiting for a definitive release date. However, reviewers note that the A90 is more affordable than the other recent devices, and the Galaxy Fold functions as both a phone and a tablet.

OnePlus 7 Pro 5G

This OnePlus 7 Pro product from Sprint starts at $840, which makes it a relatively inexpensive 5G option. This device has three rear cameras, a pop-up selfie camera and a Snapdragon 855 CPU. In addition, the smartphone can hold up to 256GB of content and has 12GB of RAM.

Oppo Reno 5G

The Oppo Reno 5G starts at $835 and comes with a pop-up camera like the OnePlus. You can count on this device to offer great performance and plenty of space for personal use with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

High-level zoom capabilities, Night Mode and various other features make this option a top choice for first-time 5G users.

LG V50 ThinQ

The LG V50 ThinQ has less storage space and memory than some of the other entries on this list. However, it has an additional display that you can attach and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. At approximately $1,000, it offers exceptional resolution and connectivity, and it’s a valuable addition to the evolution of cellular technology.

Huawei Phones

Two Huawei phone models have 5G:

• Huawei Mate 30: As an upcoming 5G device planned for later this year, the Huawei Mate 30 5G will have all the benefits of Huawei Mate 30 and 30 Pro smartphones, but with high-speed 5G technology.
• Huawei Mate X: The Huawei Mate X is a foldable, 5G-capable phone with fast charging and a long battery life. Officials have slated it to launch near the end of 2019.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G

There has been little indication about whether or not the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G will come to the U.S., but it’s available in the UK and is currently one of the most affordable 5G devices on the market.

Operating with 64 to 128GBs of storage, 6GB of RAM and a resolution of 1,080 x 2,340, you can expect this smartphone to offer a high level of performance for your investment.
